Staff

Long Ridge Camp staff is the most important part in making our Camp special.  Our staff is comprised of mature, caring, and enthusiastic individuals who work together to create the Long Ridge team.

Our Directors invest a lot of time into selecting the right people for each position. We have extremely high expectations for our staff.  We individually interview each potential staff member and require a minimum of two references as well as a full background check.

Our staff of fine, carefully chosen counselors provides attention to each child in their groups.  A number of specialists augment the regular counselors to provide additional teaching and supervision of campers daily.

Long Ridge Camp is a great environment for our staff and therefore we have very limited openings each year for new staff (especially at the head counselor and Specialist level) since our retention rate is so high.  This gives us a terrific opportunity to be especially discerning with our recruitment efforts.

At Long Ridge Camp, our specialists provide expertise in the areas they lead.  With extensive experience in those activities, specialists help provide a foundation of skills for campers.  

Group counselors assist the specialists at their direction thereby further enhancing the camper experience. 

Whether the activity is among the camper's strongest skills or is an area requiring extra support, our specialists are equipped to work with your child on an individual basis making each of those experiences special.  

We want to provide our campers with the happiest and healthiest summer we can and our staff is what makes this happen!

Senior Staff

Our Long Ridge Supervisors provide the leadership required to make our summers special.  They are all LRC veterans (some having been with us for 35+ years as campers and staff members). 

Office Staff

Our Office staff works hard to keep all of the administrative items organized.  They handle everything from daily changes in transportation to attendance and more!

JoAnne Carpanzano is in the camp office year-round handling administrative matters and transportation.  Lorraine Lorusso joins us in the Spring and handles group placement, daily changes to camper's schedules and other important items.  Terry Lakin who joins us in the summer, handles late check in and early check out and helps man the phones.  You will get to know them all well!
